Working with Skagit County, WA, we developed a suite of highly detailed, locally customized alternative future planning scenario models supporting a citizen-driven community visioning process, winning a Govenor's Smart Planning Award.
Working with Washington's Department of Natrual Resources, the Common Futures team developed maps of potential forest vegetation changes and fire regimes under current and several future sclimate scenarios.
For this project, we worked with Agriculture Canada and Environment Canada to model a variety of policy scenarios, coupled with a variety or related bioysical and ecological processes.
Common Futures is training partners at Boise State University on the use of Envision to model a set of alternative future scenarios reflecting water supply and demand, human population growth, land use policy and related factors, with the goal of assessing trajectories of change in the Boise, Idaho region.
Common Futures is assisting researchers at the Univerity of Hawaii in developing a future scenarios model focusing on coral reef health, impacts from terrestrial runoff, and associated ecosystem services evaluations, including training in the use of the Envision integrated scenario modeling platform.
